Live From Austin Music Hall (2006)
“Live from Austin Music Hall” is a great album if you were present on the night or if you particularly like Chris Tomlin. This album is a lot like “Arriving” recorded in 2004 but with the added bonus of being recorded live. Unfortunately this album is nothing special, but will make a nice addition to your Chris Tomlin collection.

Album Reviews
Indescribable
The live version of “Indescribable” is not much different at all from the studio recording on “Arriving”. The faint background singing of the audience is far as it goes! This is a powerful Christian music song that sings of the wonder of God, and the beauty of the world He created. It must be much-loved to appear as the starting song on both “Arriving” and “Live from Austin Music Hall”, but unfortunately, I find it rather lukewarm with no special quirks.

Forever
Listeners are now led in to the more upbeat “Forever” which is widely sung in churches. The live atmosphere makes this Christian music song a lot more interesting to listen to as otherwise it would be a bit bland. The lyrics sing of God being faithful “forever” and thanking Him for it. This song drags a bit, and although some people might enjoy singing it, I would not recommend listening to it!

Kindness
“Kindness” is very slow and quiet and I cannot see why people would want to sing it, let alone listen to it. Chris Tomlin is singing of Gods love and saying how it is better than everything, it is just a pity that he did not sound more excited when singing it.

Unchanging
After the dull, slow start in “Unchanging” a drum beat creeps in and livens things up a bit. Chris Tomlin is singing “raising holy hands” to the “holy one”. This album really needs a lively Christian music song to appeal to people outside Chris Tomlin fans.

On Our Side
“On Our Side” is more dance like then the rest of the Christian music songs on this album, and it is very refreshing to hear a change of pace in these songs. The lyrics sing of God always being on our side, and the song has a nice jazzy feel to it which makes it more interesting.

This Is Our God
“This is Our God” with guest David Crowder is another Christian music song which is a bit on the dull side. The quiet music makes way for the lyrics to take all the glory which simply praises God. The best thing about this song has to be the harmonious way in which Chris Tomlin’s voice and David Crowder’s voice comes together.

How Great Is Our God
“How Great is our God” is sung with great passion by Chris Tomlin and is very similar to the studio version as the audience do not really seem to join in very much. This is a great addition to the album as it so well-known and loved by contemporary Christian music listeners that it would be silly to leave it out.

Famous One
This CD ends with “Famous One” which is an energetic Christian music song that sings of the greatness of Gods name and actions. Although a little long, the atmospheric singing from the audience helps to make it more interesting to listen to. The ending cheering is a great way to end the album.
