“Awesome God” by Rich Mullins is a well-known much loved song, and a brilliant start to the CCM top 100. The memorable chorus has beautiful harmonies and a crescendo of sound as many people join in singing together about the wonder of our God. This is a perfect introduction to the top 100 Christian music songs of all time.

The upbeat “Testify To Love” by Avalon has a faster rhythm than the previous song and is more pop in style. The lyrics sing of testifying the wonderful grace and love of God to the world. One of the beauties of this album is the many different styles of music it has to offer, and that listeners will be able to appreciate a whole range of contemporary Christian music.

People Get Ready…Jesus is Comin’ – Crystal Lewis
The return of Jesus is sung about in the song “People Get Ready... Jesus Is Comin’”. This is a great song which puts an interesting twist on life.

The quiet and simple “More Power To Ya” by Petra sings of renewing our strength by reading the Bible and doing what God wants us to. This song is not as exciting or enjoyable to listen to as the others on this disc, and so is a dull finish to the first disc of the Top 100 contemporary Christian music songs of all time.

“God of Wonders” by City on a Hill opens with very soothing harmonies which is an excellent start to the second disc. This song which is full of praise is great fun to listen to with superb vocals and music.

The exciting beginning of “love in any Language” by Sandi Patty leads to an upbeat chorus that reminds us that although we say “I love you” in many different languages, the language of the heart is the same.

Listeners are now brought into the vocal performance of Michael W. Smith with “Place in this World” which is another quiet and slow song. Michael W. Smith is singing of the confusion we can feel that we are out of place and trying to find our “place in this world”. The highlight of this song is the fantastic vocal performance by Michael W. Smith in the chorus.

“Undo Me” by Jennifer Knapp is a fun up-tempo song which sings of asking God for forgiveness. Her vocal performance is amazing in this song, and the guitar rifts add an extra spark to this already exciting song.

The well-known favourite “What if I Stumble” by DcTalk sings of the confusion of whether we are working for God or for other people, and the fear of doing it wrong whilst working for God. The clear lyrics are wonderfully insightful and will strike a chord with many.

“Oh Lord, You’re Beautiful” by Warren Barfield is a wonderful rendition of the original Keith Green song recorded in 1980. The lyrics sing of the faith of God and how wonderful He is, and is set to an upbeat tune and exciting music. This is a great ending song to the top 100 contemporary Christian music songs of all time.
